Day 6, June 14, 2014

Woke at 8:00 and had breakfast and left to go to Masi Mara.  The place we stayed was awesome and beautiful.  Rich man's paradise.  We drove about 4 hours with Mellie driving and Luka and Comein rode with us, because they are from Masi Mara.  They wore their authentic African dress.  I love those two boys.  Luka is 24 and Comein is 28 and they are teachers at Morris's school.  We stopped at one gift shop and boy do you have to haggle.  We didn't get anything but when we got to the entrance to the park and Mellie had to go inside to pay to enter, we were attacked like piranha by locals who wanted us to buy from them.  Brandon started yelling at them to get away.  I was scared.  Gordon gave in and bought something, but we couldn't wait to get out of there.  We finally arrived and had lunch at about 2:00 and checked into our room which is really a tent with mosquito netting.  It's pretty cool.  Then we went on safari and today we saw zebras, wildebeests, elephants, lions, mongoose, coyote fox, dung beetle, eagle, giraffes, etc.  The country is so beautiful.  The people are so friendly, kind and smiling (except for the piranha).  We had a very successful day.  We got back to the resort and watched some tribal dancing which Comein was in.  He was a very good dancer.  Luka wants to come to UTC so bad and continue his education.  I wish he could.  Then we had dinner which is all you can eat, and I'm getting fat!  Bed at 10:00 cause we are getting up at 6:00 am to see the animals early and then coming back for breakfast.  Mellie is the best driver here.  He knows all the secret fishing holes where the animals are. This all seems like a dream.  I can't believe I'm here. Thank you Bright School.  This is trip is going to change my life!!
